Who this page is for
You're a retailer, a private brand director, or a procurement lead at a chain that wants its own store-brand beverage on the shelf. You don't want to manage five vendors across formulation, design, regulatory, and logistics — you want one accountable partner who runs the whole chain to your DCs. That's the engagement we're built for.
What private label looks like at BEV
Private label is one of our biggest businesses. We treat it as a flagship engagement, not a service line. The full chain — concept to delivered pallet — runs through one BEV team:
- Development & formulation. We build the recipe to your target profile (or refine one you already have). Most known categories — water, sparkling, sodas, energy, hard seltzer, RTD, tea — move in 2–4 weeks of formulation.
- Design. We produce print-ready can or label artwork from your brand brief, or prep your designer's files for the can supplier (color separations, dielines, regulatory marks). We don't do brand identity from scratch — that's your design team — but we own everything from there to print.
- Legal & regulatory. Label compliance review for Mexico and the US. Alcohol licensing and SAT permits / Marbete for alcoholic SKUs. General compliance for the production batch. (We don't file COFEPRIS or FDA registrations in-house — that's your team — but we make sure the labels and paperwork match.)
- Sourcing. Cans (Ball, Crown, Envases — we pick the right one for each spec), folding carton or corrugated, flavors, alcohol when relevant. We help you specify and source.
- Manufacture. Krones canning at 17,000 cans/hour today; KHS at 40,000 cph online Q4 2026. PET cold-fill at 9,000 bottles/hour. Tunnel pasteurization on the can line. Anton Paar in-line QC on every can.
- Delivered logistics. This is the part most co-packers don't do. We deliver branded retailer product to your DCs — USMCA paperwork, freight, cross-border handled. Your private label arrives where it needs to be, on time.
Single-SKU multipacks, shelf-ready packaging (folding carton or printed corrugated), club-pack formats — all in scope on the cans line. Variety packs are not in our scope; for variety packs we route to a trusted repacker partner downstream.
Categories we run for retail private label
- Spring water. Bottled at the source in PET. Standard or alkaline. 500 ml – 2 L formats.
- Sparkling water. Plain, mineral, botanically flavored — in cans or PET (sugar-free flavored).
- Sodas / CSDs. Cola, citrus, root beer, ginger ale — full carbonation range, full color set.
- Energy drinks. Caffeinated, taurine, B-vitamin, functional energy.
- Sports / hydration / electrolyte drinks.
- Hard seltzer. Standard 5% ABV; flavor variations across a multi-SKU program.
- RTD cocktails. Margaritas, palomas, mules, vodka sodas, gin tonics. CRT-certified for authentic tequila RTDs.
- Mezcal-based RTDs.
- Iced and sparkling teas. Pasteurization-compatible — sweetened, unsweetened, flavored.
- Juice CSDs and juice spritzers. Juice as an ingredient. (We don't do cold-pressed or HPP juice.)
Capacity for retail-scale programs
- Cans: 80M cans/year today on our Krones line; 320M cans/year by 2027 when the new KHS line is fully ramped (online Q4 2026).
- PET: 40M liters/year cold-fill, 9,000 bottles/hour.
- Combined throughput by Q4 2026: 57,000 cans per hour across two canning lines.
For private-label programs that need to launch in one region and scale to multiple, we have the headroom. Today's 80M cans/year handles most launches comfortably; the KHS line opens the runway for fast-growing programs.
Quality your retailer's vendor checklist will recognize
Private label decisions get made by procurement teams reading vendor checklists. Ours is built to clear them on the first pass:
- SQF Edition 9 certified — Cert 25-7302, audited annually by Mérieux NutriSciences. GFSI-recognized — the standard most major retailers (Costco, Sam's, OXXO, La Comer, Walmart) require.
- Anton Paar in-line sensors measuring density, CO₂, and O₂ on every can — continuous monitoring, not end-of-batch sampling.
- Anton Paar on-site lab — micro, O₂, CO₂, alcohol analysis, double-seam check on every batch.
- Tunnel pasteurization on the can line for alcoholic and shelf-stable non-alc.
- Lot-level traceability integrated into our ERP — full chain-of-custody from supplier to DC.
- BPA-NI can liners standard.
- FSC-certified paperboard available for cases and folding-carton multipacks.
- rPET up to 100% on PET bottles.
Anonymized examples of programs we've run
We don't name our customers — confidentiality is core to how we operate, and the same protection applies to your program. What we can share:
- A major Mexican retailer's private-label spring water — bottled at our on-site spring, delivered to their DCs across the country. Ongoing program at retail scale.
- A North American club-retailer's private-label sparkling water — multi-SKU, branded packaging, full delivered logistics.
- A retailer's private-label energy drink program — 12 oz cans, multi-flavor, club-pack and retail-pack configurations.
Engagement timeline
From confirmed brief to first pallets at your DC, a typical first run lands in 3–4 months:
- Weeks 1–4: formulation + design + label compliance run in parallel.
- Weeks 4–8: sourcing — cans, materials, flavors, alcohol if relevant.
- Weeks 8–12: production, QC, delivered logistics into your DC.
Repeat runs after that move in ~3 weeks once the recipe and materials are locked in. We compress timelines aggressively when a retailer's reset window or seasonal launch demands it.
Why retailers choose BEV
- One accountable partner. One team for development, design, regulatory, sourcing, production, and delivered logistics. No vendor finger-pointing.
- Quality the buyer team won't question. SQF Ed.9, Anton Paar, full traceability — the standard global retailers expect.
- Capacity to grow with the program. 80M → 320M cans/year, 40M L PET. Designed for retail volumes.
- Delivered to your DC. USMCA paperwork, freight, cross-border — not your problem.
- Confidentiality. We never name the brands or retailers we work with. Your program stays yours.
- Bottle-at-source water capability. Rare in Mexico — your private-label water is a real source story, not a label story.
FAQ
What does BEV's private label program actually include?
Full chain. We develop the formulation, design the packaging, handle Mexican and US regulatory paperwork, source materials, run production on Krones (and KHS by Q4 2026), and deliver branded retailer product to your DCs. End-to-end, one accountable partner.
How is private label different from regular co-packing at BEV?
Two ways. First, scope: private label is a Full Project engagement — we run the entire chain. Second, logistics: for retailer programs we deliver to your DCs (USMCA paperwork handled, freight managed). For brand co-packing we ship EXW from our plant. Private label is the engagement where we own the full delivered solution.
Which categories of private label beverages does BEV produce?
Spring water, alkaline water, sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, isotonic and sports drinks, hard seltzer, RTD cocktails, teas, juice CSDs, and more. Anything pasteurization-compatible — the full pillar of our cans line and our PET line. Coffee, lattes, milk-based products, and CBD are not in scope.
What's the minimum volume for a private label run?
180,000 cans per SKU on the can line. 100,000 bottles per SKU in PET. For retail private label these are typically run as part of a multi-SKU program, so total program volumes scale well beyond the per-SKU minimum.
What's the lead time on a new private label program?
First production run is typically 3–4 months from a confirmed brief to first pallets at your DC — covering formulation, design, label compliance, sourcing, production, and delivery. Repeat runs move faster once the recipe and materials are locked in (~3 weeks from PO to delivery).
Does BEV handle US-bound retail logistics under USMCA?
Yes. We handle the USMCA certificate of origin, commercial invoices, and Mexican export paperwork. For private label retailer programs we coordinate with your customs broker (or ours) and deliver to your US DCs.
What quality certifications support a retail private label program?
SQF Edition 9 (Cert 25-7302), audited annually by Mérieux NutriSciences, GFSI-recognized — the standard most retailer vendor checklists require. Anton Paar in-line sensors monitor density, CO₂, and O₂ on every can. Anton Paar lab handles micro, alcohol analysis, and double-seam check per batch. Lot-level traceability ERP-integrated. CRT-certified for tequila and mezcal RTDs.
Can BEV bottle private label water at the source?
Yes. Our PET line is one of the few bottle-at-source operations in Mexico — we bottle spring water directly at our spring in Jilotzingo, Estado de México. For retailer water programs that's a rare credibility lever (note: water itself is regulated by CONAGUA in Mexico, never owned privately).
Bring us your brief. We'll handle the rest — from concept to your DC.
